Interested in learning more about SRC? There is an info session each year. A session was hosted virtually on December 12. Recording from the zoom event can be found at this link

Important note: due to co-director Ruosong running extremely low on sleep, he mistakenly presents the financial aid as affecting decisions. The correct information is that not all students who apply for financial aid will receive it due to budget limitations, but it will not affect your acceptance whatsoever.

SRC 2026 FAQs

When is SRC 2026? Tentatively, SRC 2026 will take place April 10-12 (Fri-Sun).

Where is SRC 2026? Each year, SRC takes place on Stanford's campus, changing venues from year to year. SRC 2026's venue will be confirmed in the coming months.

What are the main events of SRC 2026? SRC 2026's events will be confirmed in the coming months. However, you can read SRC 2023's schedule on our website, and conference schedules stay largely similar.

I saw that the application deadline is Jan 23, what will happen to applications submitted afterwards? Due to a technical error on our part, the application form stayed open till Jan 26. Since it is unfair to penalize applicants for our errors, all applications submitted up to the closing of the regular application form will be considered on an equal basis. Applications received later will be directed to the rolling round of applications. Priority will be given to applicants who submitted their applicants before Jan 26 8pm PST, and the rolling application will stay open until we have accepted applicants up to capacity.

Who should I ask for clarifications about SRC 2026? Reach out to our co-directors for questions about the conference (see: Meet the Team).

General FAQs

Applications are now open! They are open until January 15, 11:59 PM PST.

Who is eligible to present? SRC is a research conference by undergraduates, for undergraduates. All undergraduates enrolled at two and four-year institutions are welcome to apply. If you aren't currently enrolled as an undergraduate (e.g. you are a high schooler or recent graduate), you are ineligble to present for this year.

Can I present a project that I did before becoming an undergraduate student? In general, no, but exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis; email our co-directors for clarification.

What does the application consist of? In addition to information about yourself and your research adviser, we ask you to submit your project’s research abstract, proposal, and your CV. While completing the google form, if you would like to apply for financial assistance to attend the conference, you will be led to our financial aid application.

Will applying for financial aid affect my application? No. We are committed to evaluating applications independently of expressed financial need. Not all applicants who apply for aid will be able to get aid due to our limited funds as a student organization, but no applicants applying for aid will be disadvantaged in the evaluation process.

Does my poster need to be completed by the time I submit my application? The poster does not need to be completed at the time of submission, but we expect the poster to be completed in the weeks leading up to the conference. We will reach out to admitted applicants with incomplete posters on a case-by-case basis.

What if my research isn't completed yet? You are welcome to submit incomplete research based on your current progress and what you expect to be done by the conference. We will take these information into account when evaluating your research.

Can I submit research done for a summer program or some other program? Yes, unless your program has placed restrictions on your doing so.

What can I do to explore Stanford? In the past SRC has offered various tours that attendees can sign up for, staffed by volunteers. School events are also generally open to visitors, and some events can be accessed if you find a Stanford student who will take you. If you wish to use public transit to explore the rest of campus or beyond, schedules for the Marguerite bus and the Caltrain line can be found online.

Where will I stay during the conference? Unless indicated otherwise, accepted participants who are not local in the Bay Area will be housed with Stanford undergraduate student hosts in their rooms. Student hosts will be provided with air mattresses for visiting presenters. Visitor-host pairs will be put into contact with one another in the weeks leading up to the conference to allow coordinating living situations.

Will food be provided? Yes. You can also ask your host to swipe you into Stanford's dining halls.
