Zainab Al-Atya

Zainab is a sophomore majoring in Spanish and Human Biology, with a focus on neuroimmunology and women's global health. As a member of the Han Lab, she studies clinical outcomes in multiple sclerosis, as well as the cellular and molecular basis of neuroautoimmune disease. She is an aspiring physician who loves translational research, and feels most like herself both when working with patients and running experiments behind the bench. In her free time, she loves learning languages, planning events for the Muslim Student Union, interpreting in Stanford’s CFCs, and reading literature in the realms of magic realism and environmental activism.
